Databases - General advice

It is sometimes good to start research in General Multidisciplinary databases. If you determine that your topic falls under a subject or discipline like Life Science or Psychology, etc...

You will not use databases that contain daily newspapers or articles written by journalists/staff writers.

JSTOR is particularly helpful when you work on a topic that has been studied by researcher for a long time. Like "Fair Housing".

When you search for articles, make use of Limiters. Limiters are built-in database features like SORT, or ACADEMIC JOURNALS, or SUBJECT links.

If an article is not available in Full Text, check Journal Finder. If you still cannot locate the article using Journal Finder, order the article through Interlibrary Loan.
