Instruction Goal
A critical aspect of the education provided at NC Wesleyan
College is instruction that will enable students to find,
evaluate, and use information effectively, no matter what
the format. With the growth of electronic resources,
students must choose from a bewildering array of resources,
including books, periodicals, web pages, electronic
databases, and online journals. In addition to basic
instruction provided for students in the freshman seminars
and the introductory composition classes, the library offers
a full range of instruction, ranging from broad
introductions to the literature of a field to subject guides
to instruction in electronic resources and the World Wide
Web. We encourage faculty members to request instruction in
information literacy for their classes. Librarians provide
bibliographic instruction to individual students as needed
and at the appropriate level as a routine aspect of
reference service.
