How to Find Articles: |
| Find the article databases: |
1. Go to the Library website: library.ncwc.edu |
2. Click on the Find Articles link. |
3. Find article databases that are relevant to your topic or
subject. |
| Search for article(s): |
1. The article databases do not understand complete sentences. Decide what keyword terms might best describe your topic.
2. Type your keywords into the search box. If you do not receive any "hits", use a thesaurus to find different words or phrases that might also describe your topic.
Example: Your paper on "deforestation in the Brazilian
jungle" might generate keywords like "Brazil", "jungle" and
"deforestation." But you might also need to try synonyms
like "Amazon," "rainforest," and "logging."
3. To save time, read article abstracts to determine if the article fits your topic. |
| Printing, emailing, or saving articles: |
- Once you have found the right article(s), you may print it on a computer lab printer, email it to your
Yahoo, AOL, or My NCWC account (and then print it at home), or save the article to a disk
or USB drive (and print at home).
- Each article record contains a Print, Email, and Save link at the top of the record.
