Library News:
| NCWC Breaks Ground on
New Library Addition On Friday,
April 25, NCWC and Barnhill Contracting Company broke ground
on the new 12,000-square-foot library addition that will
widely expand student study and technology space, and add a
new gathering place to the college.
Coverage in the Rocky Mount Telegram can
be found
here.
We are very excited about the addition,
and ask that all students, faculty, staff, and community
patrons bear with us during our construction and renovations
that will begin on May 1 and continue until the new addition
opens, tentatively before the Fall 2009 semester.

| NCWC Joins Aluka: African Digital
Library In an effort to increase the library's
content related to African studies, NCWC Libraries has joined
Aluka, a new and growing digital repository of scholarly
information about Africa. Aluka currently presents
content related to African history, biology, and civilization,
and will continue to grow over the coming years as more
content is added to the digital resource. Students in
courses about African history or wildlife will find particular
interest in the content of Aluka, which includes unique
documents, images that can be used in presentations, and a
widely searchable base of content related to Africa.
To use Aluka,

To find out more about how you can use Aluka for your
research, contact Steve Bahnaman or
any of the other librarians at Pearsall Library.
